How we handle your information

Who We Are

Mastering the Piano is a private piano instruction service operated by Davide Palmer, serving families in East Cobb, Marietta, and Roswell, Georgia. This policy explains how we handle information collected through this website.

Information We Collect

The separate piano lesson interest form collects a contact name, email address, student age and experience, approximate neighborhood, and available days and times. Adults may inquire for themselves; a parent or guardian should submit for a child. Please do not include a child's full name, date of birth, or a street address.

With your voluntary consent, Davide uses these details to follow up about suitable piano lesson openings. The details and your recorded consent are stored in the studio's private Cloudflare-hosted database, accessible only through the owner's protected dashboard. Joining does not reserve a lesson or guarantee a place or start date. You may ask Davide to remove your inquiry using the contact details below.

The interest form uses a necessary, short-lived security cookie (up to 30 minutes) and technical request records to prevent abuse and repeated submissions. These include a daily-hashed IP value, request counts, and a hash of the submitted details for duplicate detection. Expired technical records are cleared when the form is next opened; duplicate-detection records expire after 30 days. No advertising or marketing messages are sent automatically by this form.

When you submit the contact form on our website, we collect your name, phone number, email address, and any details you provide about the student. This information is transmitted through Formspree, a third-party form processing service, and delivered to us via email.

Student sheet music library

The sheet music library is for enrolled students and their families, who sign in with the studio password. It uses two necessary cookies: a sign-in cookie that lasts 30 days, and a device cookie that holds a random identifier. The device cookie is renewed while the device is in use and expires 400 days after the last visit.

Favorites are stored in the studio's private Cloudflare-hosted database, linked to that random identifier, not to a name or email address. Favorites of a device not seen for 400 days are deleted.

To prevent password guessing and other abuse, the library stores daily-hashed IP values and attempt counts for about two hours. Expired records are cleared the next time the library checks a limit.

The library counts views, prints, downloads, shares and share-link opens for each piece without identifying anyone, and keeps those counts for 400 days. Anyone with a piece's share link can open that one piece, and nothing else in the library. Signing out clears the library's data stored in that browser. The library sends no information to third parties.

We do not collect payment information through this website. We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes.
